Scope and operator
Menu Bar Pomodoro is developed and operated by Sho Builds It. This policy describes version 1.0 of the Mac app. Contact: [email protected]. This app does not use the Google-connected features described in the website’s separate policy for private tools.
Data on your Mac
No account or login is required. The app stores focus and break session history, timer settings and the current session locally on your Mac. Session records contain local session identifiers, times, durations and completion status. The Analytics view calculates summaries from these local records; it is not a third-party analytics service.
The app has no built-in cloud sync, advertising, tracking, third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. It does not automatically upload these records to Sho Builds It or an external server. Sho Builds It does not sell personal data from the app. macOS backup, diagnostics and services you configure operate under their own settings and policies.
Backup, import and CSV export
Export Backup saves settings, history and current-session state as a JSON file to the location you choose. Export Sessions saves saved session records as CSV. The app does not automatically send either file to us.
Import Backup reads a JSON backup only after you select it and confirm replacement. It replaces the app’s current records and settings. An unfinished session is restored paused; a session already completed at the saved checkpoint stays completed. If unreadable history is replaced, the app keeps a recovery copy locally.
Exported files remain where you save them until you remove them. A cloud-synced folder or backup service you choose may copy these files independently of the app. Keep or share exports with care: they contain your session records and are not encrypted by the app.
Notifications
Notifications are optional and off by default. The app requests macOS notification permission when you enable Notifications in Settings. Completion alerts are scheduled locally; the app does not send their contents to a notification server. You can turn notifications off in the app or change permission in macOS System Settings → Notifications. Sound is a separate setting.
Retention and removal
Local records stay until you remove them or explicitly replace them with an imported backup. There is no automatic history expiry or in-app Delete All control. Quit the app before removing its local data folder. Uninstalling the app alone may leave data behind. Exported files, recovery copies, old local-version data and system or cloud backups must be handled separately.

Website visits and support email
Opening this policy or Support uses your browser. Cloudflare Pages hosts this website and processes network information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect it. The website does not add advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Cloudflare’s privacy policy applies to its processing.
If you email support, your address, message and attachments are processed through Cloudflare Email Routing and Google’s email service to handle your request. Correspondence is retained while needed for the request and necessary follow-up; no fixed automatic deletion period is configured. You may request deletion, subject to applicable retention obligations. Please do not send credentials or unnecessary session records.
